Privacy Policy

SheetVelocity ("the add-in," "we," "our") is a Microsoft Excel add-in that loads spreadsheet data into a database that runs locally, inside Excel's task pane, on your own device. This policy explains what data the add-in handles, how, and — just as important — what it does not do.

Information we collect

Today, the add-in itself collects nothing and sends nothing to SheetVelocity's own servers. All data you load — via file side-load or by selecting an existing worksheet table — is:

• Parsed and stored in a database that runs entirely inside the Excel task pane's local browser engine.
• Persisted only to your own device's local browser storage, so it's available again next time you open the task pane.
• Never transmitted to SheetVelocity, to any SheetVelocity-operated server, or to any third party by the add-in itself.

We do not currently operate any backend service the add-in talks to. There is no telemetry, analytics, or crash reporting in the current build.

Third-party AI assistants (bring your own key)

If you choose to connect an AI assistant (for example, Claude Desktop or Cursor) to SheetVelocity's data connector, your query results and schema (column names, sample values) may be sent to whatever AI provider you have configured that assistant to use, subject to that provider's own privacy policy and terms — not ours. SheetVelocity does not operate, proxy, or have visibility into that connection: it happens directly between your AI client and your chosen AI provider, using your own account with that provider. Review your AI provider's data-handling policy before connecting it to any dataset containing sensitive information.

Account, billing, and licensing data

Paid tiers are managed through this website. At minimum, creating an account collects your email address, and payment details are handled directly by our payment processor (Stripe) — SheetVelocity does not store your card details. Contact us (see Support) to request account deletion.

Data storage and security

Data loaded into the add-in lives in your browser's local storage, scoped to the add-in's own origin — it is not accessible to other websites or add-ins, and it is not automatically synced or backed up anywhere by SheetVelocity. Clearing your browser's site data for the add-in, or using the add-in's own "Clear optimized data" action, removes it. Uninstalling the add-in does not automatically delete previously stored data from your device's browser storage.

Children's privacy

SheetVelocity is a productivity tool intended for general business/personal use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the date above when this policy changes. Material changes will be reflected here before or at the time those features ship.
