SheetVelocity
// Excel add-in

Your spreadsheets outgrew Excel.
SheetVelocity didn't.

Load, query, and refresh datasets too large or slow for Excel to handle on its own — right inside the add-in. Nothing installed outside it, nothing uploaded anywhere.

The problem

You've hit Excel's ceiling. Your options haven't been great.

Power BI can handle the scale — but it isn't your deliverable, and rebuilding everything in it isn't always the answer.

Deliverable stays Excel

Your query used to take 10 seconds. Now it times out.

Your colleagues expect an .xlsx, not a Power BI link. Rebuilding the whole workflow in another tool is a bigger ask than fixing the query that's actually slow. SheetVelocity optimizes it in place, in the file you already have.

AI-forward analysts

Your AI assistant can't read a 3-million-row CSV.

It'll blow past its context window before it finishes the first sheet — if Excel can even open the file at all. SheetVelocity gives your data a real database to query instead of a wall of text to swallow whole.

How it works

Four steps, all inside the task pane

Pick a source

An existing table already in your workbook, or a file to side-load — including ones far too large for Excel to open on its own.

Loaded locally

Streamed into an embedded database that runs inside the task pane. Nothing leaves your machine.

Query it

Plain SQL, with a schema panel that shows you every column — click one to insert it into your query.

Back to your worksheet

Results write straight back to whichever sheet you're on, as a real Excel table. Re-run anytime — that's your "Refresh."

What's in it

Built for the datasets that broke your workflow

⚡ Optimize an existing table

Point it at a table a slow query already loads into. Its current data gets copied into the embedded database once — future refreshes are fast, without waiting on the original source again.

📥 Side-load oversized files

CSV files with millions of rows — the kind Excel's own 1,048,576-row ceiling won't even let you open — load straight into the add-in instead.

🩹 Fix messy data inline

A row with the wrong number of columns doesn't get silently dropped or corrupted — it's flagged, color-coded, and editable right in the task pane, with one-click bulk repair.

🤖 AI assistant connector Coming soon

Let Claude, Cursor, or another MCP-compatible assistant query your data directly — using your own AI subscription, never routed through us.

Tested, not theoretical: 3,000,000 rows loaded in 9.8 seconds. 10,000,000 rows in 35.5 seconds, under 2GB of memory. Numbers from real runs against real files — not marketing math.

FAQ

Good questions

Does my data leave my machine?

No. Everything you load runs inside an embedded database in the task pane, on your device. SheetVelocity doesn't operate a backend that your spreadsheet data passes through.

Do I need to know SQL?

No — "Optimize" and "Side-load" are one-click actions. Querying does use SQL, but a schema panel shows you every column so you're never guessing at names.

Is this trying to replace Power BI?

No. If your output can live in Power BI, it's a great tool. SheetVelocity is for when your deliverable has to stay an Excel file.

What about the AI assistant feature — do you see my data?

No. When it ships, that connection runs directly between your AI client and your own AI provider account — SheetVelocity never sits in the middle of it.
